Bodybuilders and power lifters stick to their bread and butter exercises with free weights for one reason, they work. If you have a weighted bar, weight plates and a bench you can work all areas of your body. Some of the classic exercises you can perform with these pieces of equipment are bench press, dead-lifts, squats and the military press.
After you finish your workout, don’t forget to perform at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise on the treadmill, stair master or elliptical. Cardiovascular exercise is an important part of any workout routine, not only because it burns fat but because it gives your heart the exercise it needs to keep it healthy.
