Much of the success of Australia’s $16.1 billion red meat industry is attributed to the country’s abundance of high quality saleyard operators. Most of Australia’s best saleyard operators, as well as the red meat industry’s other profitable operations such as the growing feedlot sector, are located in the resource-abundant state of Western Australia. In fact, five of Australia’s best saleyard operators are located in Western Australia. These include Boyanup Saleyard, Brunswick Saleyard, Katanning Saleyard, Midland Saleyard, and the Great Southern Regional Cattle Saleyards found in the city of Plantagenet.
